1919: Julius Fromm produces the first brand-name condom under his own name: Fromms Act.
1932: Production of the first viscose sponge in the Beauvais works (France).
1947: Founding of the Hanseatisches Gummiwerk Bachmann und Co. KG company with headquarters in Bremen and Production works in Zeven
1947: Novacel starts the sales of Spontex products.
1956: Hanseatische Gummiwarenfabrik GmbH introduces the NUK teat.
1967: MAPA SA-Paris takes over all shares in "Hanseatischen Gummiwarenfabrik GmbH", Bremen. The Company is therefore
a majority holding of the "MAPA-FIT" group.
1969: Renaming to MAPA GmbH, Gummi, und Plastikwerke.
1973: The Hutchinson Group merges with MAPA-FIT and acquires the entire capital of MAPA GmbH
1974: The mineral oil producer Total acquires the majority of shares in the Hutchinson Group.
1980: Novacel becomes Spontex.
2002: Spontex Deutschland GmbH, Mönchengladbach, merges with MAPA GmbH in Zeven. The brand name
Spontex continues to be used by MAPA
2010: The Mapa Spontex Group, which owns MAPA GmbH, is taken over by the US-based Jarden Corporation (NYSE: JAH)
